The World's Only Female DJ Drummer
Lyndsay started as a percussionist and classically trained musician, gigging and touring the world with artists as eclectic as Ricky Martin, Trance DJ Luke Slater, Rihanna and disco legends Nile Rogers and Chic, before turning her hand to the decks and then combining both into her solo act, She Plays Drums.
Whether it's a sophisticated drinks reception or dancing the night away, her knowledge of so many genres of music, as well as her unique addition of live percussion has led her to perform at The BRIT Awards official after parties, Elle Style Awards, London and Paris Fashion Weeks and for celebrities including HRH Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, Tamara Eccleston, DJ Greg James, Annie Leibovitz, Louis Hamilton and the ultimate party girl, Paris Hilton.
As well as a DJ and drummer, Lyndsay loves cooking and even made it to the semi-finals of Masterchef recently, currently on Netflix. She also has taught drums for The Disney Channel and performs worldwide, including in London's West End, with the show, Tap Dogs.
Mixing DJing and Percussion
Lyndsay is what is called an 'Open Format' DJ, meaning her expertise lies in playing any style of music - from disco, house, commercial to latin, r&b and exciting and unique remixes.
She can of course just play a DJ set - and regularly does - but when combined with the live drums she moves between the decks and the percussion throughout the evening, soloing and adding grooves where appropriate.
It can work in a relaxed setting; providing interest to a background set where the addition of another musician can be too 'in your face' for the event - perfect for drinks receptions, brand launches and garden parties.
Later on, Lyndsay is guaranteed to keep the dance floor full all night as she goes between the decks and her drums. Musically perfect with dance, disco, club classics, R&B - anything goes!
